RenerCycle and Metal One Corporation sign agreement to drive circular economy and ZeroWaste in the Asia Pacific wind energy sector

RenerCycle and Metal One Corporation, a subsidiary of Mitsubishi Corporation, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore and develop solutions for wind turbine dismantling, component refurbishment and material recycling in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region.

This collaboration brings together RenerCycle’s expertise in circular economy solutions for the wind industry with Metal One’s leadership in global steel supply. The objective is to establish a sustainable business model for end-of-life management of wind turbines in APAC, moving towards a ZeroWaste approach to the wind industry.

The signing of the agreement took place during the Smart Energy Week held in Tokyo (Japan) and was attended by Mr. Javier Villanueva, CEO of RenerCycle and Mr. Bongsik Shin, Project Manager, Green Transformation Strategy Office of Metal One Corporation.

In the words of Javier Villanueva, “At RenerCycle we are committed to promoting the circular economy in renewable energies. This collaboration with Metal One will allow us to expand our impact and bring our innovative decommissioning and recycling solutions to new markets in APAC.”

This agreement is a further step towards the goal of ZeroWaste in the wind energy sector.
