The work is part of the repowering process for the Caparroso, Serralta and San Gregorio wind farms (the latter two in Cabanillas), declared Projects of Regional Interest by the Government of Navarre, and reinforces both companies’ commitment to the circular economy and responsible management of the life cycle of wind assets.

• The repowering will drastically reduce the number of wind turbines: in Caparroso, the number will be reduced from 42 to 6 new wind turbines, and in Cabanillas from 45 to 5, increasing efficiency and reducing the impact on the territory.
• Real circular economy and traceability at the end of the wind farms’ life cycle: 87 wind turbines will be dismantled applying maximum safety and sustainability criteria, with the goal of moving towards a “Zero Waste” model in the sector.

RenerCycle has signed two contracts with Grupo Enhol to carry out the dismantling and recycling of the Caparroso, San Gregorio and Serralta wind farms, the latter two located in the municipality of Cabanillas (Navarra).

The projects are part of the wind farm repowering process, through which Grupo Enhol is modernising its facilities with the aim of increasing efficiency, improving performance and reducing the territorial impact, significantly decreasing the number of wind turbines installed. In the case of Caparroso, the current 42 turbines will be replaced by six new wind turbines, while in Cabanillas the existing 45 turbines will be reduced to five units. The scope of the contract includes the complete dismantling of wind turbines, associated logistics, comprehensive waste management, recycling and recovery of the main components, as well as all the necessary actions to ensure the proper environmental restoration of the site.

Specifically, RenerCycle will be responsible for dismantling 87 Ecotecnia wind turbines, including 45 ECO44 600 kW wind turbines, 41 ECO48 700 kW turbines and 1 ECO80 1.6 MW wind turbine, applying criteria of maximum traceability, safety and sustainability in all phases of the project.

The work will be carried out throughout 2026 and will enable RenerCycle to continue expanding its portfolio of wind repowering projects in Spain and Portugal, actively contributing to a more efficient and sustainable energy transition.
