Bureau Veritas and RenerCycle sign framework agreement for end-of-life and circular economy services for wind assets

The collaboration of two sustainability benchmarks is key to the promotion of sustainable practices in the renewable energy industry.

The commitment of both companies to environmental protection and the promotion of the circular economy is consolidated through this collaboration.

Bureau Veritas, a world leader in inspection, testing, certification and technical consultancy services , has signed a framework agreement with RenerCycle, a company dedicated to the dismantling, refurbishment and recycling of wind turbines, components and materials .

RenerCycle is made up of ten partners with a strong track record in the renewable sector, with extensive experience across the entire value chain including the development of wind farms worldwide, the manufacture of components and wind turbines, as well as the operation and maintenance of renewable energy facilities.

The signing ceremony will take place on 20 March at the Wind Europe 2024 event, and will be chaired by Rafael Andrioli, commercial director of Bureau Veritas, and Javier Villanueva, CEO of RenerCycle.

The scope of this strategic agreement focuses on the provision of specialised services that promote sustainability and efficiency in the management of wind energy installations , as well as the marketing of reconditioned components and the responsible recycling of materials.

The services that Bureau Veritas will provide under this agreement fall within RenerCycle’s three main areas of activity: the dismantling of wind energy installations, including the appropriate and certified management of waste; the reconditioning of wind turbine components for their subsequent use and the recycling of material.

Bureau Veritas will perform, among others, independent verifications, inspections and audits to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards or environmental requirements in the different processes (dismantling, recycling, reconditioning, etc.) or materials treated.

This agreement represents a significant step towards the promotion of sustainable practices in the renewable energy industry and consolidates the commitment of both companies to environmental protection and the promotion of the circular economy.
